COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The US 12 Heritage Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, presented the DAR Historic Preservation Recognition Award to David McDonald this past Sunday.
The award is given to an individual who has done remarkable volunteer work at the community level for historic preservation.
McDonald spent six years researching and writing the history book “Branch County Then and Now 1800-2016.”
He also chaired the Military Park Committee at the four-corners, as well as many other projects related to Branch County’s history.
The book is oversized with approximately 1,900 images, that traces the history of the county dating back to the earliest settlers the Paleo Indians, and is available for purchase through the Branch County Historical Society’s website.
