COLDWATER,MI (WTVB) – A “Hands Off ” demonstration is planned for Saturday in downtown Coldwater from 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.
According to a post on the Branch County Democrats Facebook page, participants are urged to to bring creative homemade signs to send a message to Congressman Tim Walberg, President Trump and Elon Musk to keep their hands off essential services. The group says those nclude veterans benefits, social security, medicare, medicaid, education and food assistance to name a few.
Organizers are encouraging anyone concerned about DOGE and their “draconian cuts” to join the demonstration at the main four corners.
Similar demonstrations have been taking place across the country including Lansing and Three Rivers April 19.
On that same day about 75 people showed at the Four Corners in downtown Coldwater to take part in a nationwide network of demonstrations against the Trump administration.
To prepare for this weekend’s demonstration Branch County Democrats have offered 90 minute training sessions for interested participants entitled Strategic Planning for an Effective and Non Violent Demonstration.
It’s unclear at this time how large or small the demonstration may be.
