COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission held a public hearing for a Special Land Use Permit request on Monday night which would allow Century Bank and Trust to construct a 584-square foot drive-through banking facility at their 50-year-old main branch in Coldwater.
The proposed drive-through would be located within an area that is currently used for parking and open space.
William Haas from the architectural firm of Barber McCalpin Associates said they were first approached by the bank in 2019 but plans were changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Special Use Permit will be issued once three parcels are combined. Soil erosion and sedimentation control plans also have to be reviewed by the city staff.
Planning and Zoning Administrator Bob Hawley said additional details are still required for dumpster screening, lighting, and the proposed monument sign along West Chicago Street.
The existing ATM would be relocated to the new drive through building. It is anticipated the project will be completed in April of 2026.
