COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- Unemployment levels fell in Branch and surrounding counties from March to April, according to new numbers released Thursday by The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.
Branch Counties unemployment levels fell by .5% to 4.5%, St Joseph County also dropped a half percent to 5.0, Hillsdale county fell nearly a full percentage point from 5.9% to 5.2% and Calhoun County saw a decline in unemployment claims from 6.2 % in March to 5.7% in April.
Statewide the biggest job gains in April came in construction, professional and business services, private education, and health services industries.
