COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Fair is one of 29 organizations receiving Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development grants worth nearly $1.6 million to fund capital improvements at county fairground facilities and to support expositions featuring livestock and commodities.
Fair Manager Alyssa Blonde says the $91,211 from the state will allow upgrades on three restroom facilities at the fairgrounds in Coldwater, including one at the amphitheater, at the exhibitor area, and the newer brick building near the midway area.

Among the improvements will new lighting, shower renovations, and increased handicap accessibility.
“MDARD is proud to support county fairs as indispensable forums for agricultural education, local commerce and civic engagement,” said MDARD Director Tim Boring. “Today’s grants will help build infrastructure and programs that connect Michiganders to the food they eat and to our state’s rich agricultural heritage.”
