ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WTVB)- Two people are dead after a crash involving a semi in St. Joseph County, Michigan.
State police say a 22-year-old Elkhart, IN man was heading east on North River Road just after 5:30 p.m. Friday and did not stop at the intersection. He went into US-131 and hit the semi.
Both the driver and his passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Elkhart, IN died at the scene. Their names have not been released, pending family notification.
Police say it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The semi driver was not hurt.
Police do not believe the semi driver was under the influence.
The crash remains under investigation.
