Keith Edward Timar, 51, of Coldwater passed away peacefully at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan June 7, 2025.
A Celebration of Life that will be held at the Branch County Fairgrounds 4-H Cabin Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4:00-7:30 p.m., with a special tribute at 6:00 p.m. for friends and family to share their memories of his legacy.
He was born at Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater May 8, 1974.
Keith grew up in Girard, Michigan, where he enjoyed riding his bike, showing goats at the Branch County fair, and playing backyard football. During high school, he was an enthusiastic member of the football team, playing for four years and participating in shot put and discus. He was always cheering for his fellow Cardinal teammates and enjoyed attending many sprint car races with close family and friends. As a young man, he enjoyed playing on a softball team with his father and brother Brent.
Keith graduated from Coldwater High School, Class of 1993. His passion for cooking transformed into a career as he worked in several restaurants in Coldwater and Wellington, Kansas.
A devoted sports fan, Keith supported the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings,(everything Detroit), and the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) He found joy in building and painting sprint car model kits. Over his lifetime, Keith had many pets, including dogs, cats, and goats.
Above all, Keith was a proud and loving father to his two children, Thaddeus and Willow. He made it a priority to attend every sporting event, school activity, and opportunity to support his kids.
Keith will be remembered as the life of the party and a friend to all.
Keith is survived by Renee Hawkins-Timar, (son)Thaddeus, (daughter) Willow, (Loving mother) Lois-Anthony Timar, (brother) Brent (Susan)Timar, (brother) Ryan Timar, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Timar, and grandparents Ralph and Doris Anthony, John Timar, and Shirley Bupp.
The family requests donations be made in Keith’s honor to the Coldwater Athletic Boosters Club and the Monroe Street AA Group.
