Florence Irene “Flo” Colley, 83, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Sommers Hospice House under hospice care in Sebring, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 8220 M-60 Union City, MI with the Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman as celebrant. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 p.m., with a memory sharing time starting at 6:30 p.m., at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI.
Flo was born January 6, 1942 to Urban and Helen (Neuheus) Boyd in Cadillac, Michigan. She attended Cadillac High School and graduated with the Class of 1959.
She was married to Curtis Franklin Colley, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Flo lived in the Detroit and Warren area for about 20 years and then she moved to Union City in 1980, also spending her winters in Sebring, Florida. She owned a family restaurant in Union City and Savannah’s Pizza in Athens and Burr Oak. She later worked at the Florence Crane and Lakeland Correctional Facilities in Coldwater for 17 years in food service.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Union City and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Coldwater.
An avid traveler, Flo also really loved to spend time with family. Some of her happiest moments were while camping and sitting by the campfire. She also loved the sensation of floating in a lake or pool and deeply enjoyed live music. She religiously went to the gym every other day. Flo was a kind and loving grandmother.
Flo is survived by her son, Curtis Colley, Jr. of Coldwater; her grandchildren, Savannah, Aidan, Rebecca, and Joshua; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Sawyer; her siblings, George (Phyllis) Boyd of Detroit area, Michael (Jan) Boyd of Cadillac, and Diane (Bud) Gerow of Colorado; and her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Flo was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Colley; her sisters, Kathleen Fox and Joan Weeks; her brother, David Boyd; and her parents.
