Laquata J. Holloway, 89, of Coldwater passed away Sunday June 22, 2025 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
A service will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Larry Prince officiating.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Interment will take place following the service Tuesday at Batavia Cemetery.
Laquata was born March 25, 1936 to Addison and Betty (Bailey) Prince in Anco, Kentucky. After she graduated high school, and attended some college, Laquata went on to work for a travel agency in Detroit until she had her first child. From then on, she dedicated her time to her family as a wonderful homemaker.
Laquata was a member of the Jesus Name Apostolic Church. As a devoted Christian, she loved to read her bible and participate as much as she could with the church. Laquata also enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She also sold Avon beauty products and did so for many years. Ms. Holloway had a special talent for decorating cakes and would make sure her children always had the most impressive cakes while growing up for their birthdays.
Laquata is survived by her children Randy (Tina) Holloway of Baytown, TX, Douglas Holloway of Williamsburg, KY; her siblings Fonda Vincent of Howell, MI, Larry (Cathy) Prince of Coldwater, Wayne (Cathy) Prince of Coldwater; her grandchildren Kylie Holloway, Hailey Holloway, Taylor Holloway, Kameron Holloway; and many nieces and nephews.
Laquata was preceded in death by her former husband James Holloway.
