Norman Lynn Fisher, 86, of Bay City, formerly of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in Saginaw, MI. following a short illness.
Visitation will take place from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Gephart Funeral Home, 201 W. Midland Street, Bay City. The Order of Burial will be held at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 105 S. Erie Street, Bay City, Monday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m.
“Norm” was born September 4, 1938, in Coldwater, MI. The son of Charles and Estelle (Clinefelter) Fisher, Norm was raised in Coldwater.
He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1956 and attended Western Michigan University prior to being employed by the former Federal-Mogul Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2001.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963, having been stationed in Germany most of that time.
In August 1972, Norm married Patricia Romick Hibbs of Battle Creek and they had a wonderful 52 years together. Homes were in Coldwater and Clawson, MI, and Green Valley, AZ, where they lived for 17 years before returning to MI to be closer to children and grandchildren, settling in Bay City, MI, about half-way between children’s homes.
Norm enjoyed bowling, watching the Detroit Tigers, puzzles, having a garden, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was a Life Member of the Benevolent, Protective, Order of Elks and active in his local chapter wherever he lived.
He also was a huge University of Michigan fan and closely followed its football and basketball games.
Norm is survived by his wife, Pat, and children Donald Hibbs of Orchard Lake, MI, Matthew Charles (Nicole) Fisher of Lake Orion, MI, Sara Elizabeth (Joshua) Christensen of Gladwin, MI, grandchildren Elijah, Dylan, Rachel, Ivan, Maxwell, and Alice, his brother Charles of VA, sister Virginia (David) Brown of Coldwater, and several cousins.
