BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In May, Bronson Community Schools voters turned down a $32.33 million bond proposal by just 42 votes, Bronson Superintendent Kate Wall says the district will pursue the bond again in November with some adjustments to lower the total to under $30 million.
The millage rate on the new proposal will remain the same 4.98 mills in 2025 and an average of 4.61 mills over the 25-year bond term.
Wall says most everything in the November bond will mirror the bond issue from May as far as the improvements that will be made.
She says they have spent a lot of time trying to find the middle ground of balancing the much-needed improvements and the expense to tax payers.
Wall says the feedback they received was that the tipping point to pass a bond in Bronson was the $30 million mark.
