Richard R. McLaughlin, 78, of Quincy passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at his home.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Broadway Grille in Coldwater Friday, September 12, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Richard was born August 29, 1947 in Toledo, OH, to Raymond and Mary (Marsh) McLaughlin. He worked as a Systems Analyst for Unisys for many years, until his retirement in 2005.
Richard was a member of the DeVilbiss Alumni Association. He loved being on the water in his boat on Lake Erie and Marble Lake with many fond memories of perch fishing. He enjoyed tinkering and rebuilding things in his garage which turned into his own business making rock oil candles.
Richards greatest joy was his family. He laughed big and loved big.
Richard will be remembered for his kind heart, selflessness, and thoughtful actions towards others.
Richard is survived by his children Jeffery (Janet) McLaughlin of Edgerton, WI, Thomas (Maja) McLaughlin of Chicago, IL, Jennifer (Scott) Warren of Kernersville, NC; his significant other Beverly Bunch; his grandchildren Mathew (Melody Turner) McLaughlin, Scot (Brooke) McLaughlin, Connor McLaughlin, Olivia McLaughlin, Lilly Warren, Ella Warren; his great grandchildren Brayden, Cian, Everett, Darcy; his nieces Julie McLaughlin and Jaime (Ben) Chandler.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother OJ.
