UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers used another fast start to defeat the Sand Creek Aggies 36-18 on Friday night at Alumni Field.
The win improved the Chargers record to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big 8 Conference.
For the second straight Union City game, all of the scoring took place in the first half.
Trey McDonald scored three touchdowns, two on offense from one and 16 yards and another on defense when he scooped up a fumble and rumbled 31 yards for a score.
Kenny Case ran for a 18 yard touchdown while quarterback Braxton Miller threw a six yard TD pass to Mitchell Graham.
The two teams combined for 38 points in a wild second quarter which featured four touchdowns in the span of three minutes and two seconds.
Sand Creek’s Wyatt Fox accounted for all three Aggie scores as he ran for a 38-yard touchdown and caught two TD passes from Jackson Sutherland from 12 and 52 yards out.
Unofficially, Union City rushed for 248 yards and gained 96 yards in the air for 344 yards of total offense.
Both Case and McDonald rushed for nearly 100 yards. The Chargers travel to Stockbridge next Friday night.
