BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – LifeCare Ambulance, the nonprofit EMS provider for all or parts of Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Eaton, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph Counties in Michigan, has named its 2025 Star of Life Award recipients.

The American Ambulance Association’s Star of Life award nomination criteria include highly professional conduct, an unswerving commitment to patient care, and contributions that go above and beyond regular job duties, such as heroic rescues, significant community involvement, or exceptional leadership. Nominees, including Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, and EMS support personnel, are recognized for their exceptional service, dedication, and positive impact on their organization and the broader EMS community.
LifeCare Ambulance’s 2025 Star of Life award recipients are Paramedic Nathan Pewoski and PACE Coordinator Kathleen Arthur.
Star of Life recipients from across Michigan joined together at the State Capitol on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Their awards were presented by Angela Madden, Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services.
