HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Hillsdale Hospital has announced a new agreement with Premier Radiology to significantly improve its radiological services, with an official start date of October 21.
The partnership aims to provide faster turnaround times for test results, addressing previous concerns from patients about longer wait times. Premier Radiology is set to bring a substantial increase in staffing, with more than triple the number of radiologists compared to the hospital’s former group, which is expected to drastically cut down the time patients spend waiting for a diagnosis.
This increased capacity will also bring a wider range of subspecialty expertise to the hospital, covering areas such as neurological and musculoskeletal imaging, ensuring more specialized and accurate reads. According to CEO Jeremiah J. Hodshire, the collaboration reflects the hospital’s commitment to superior service, stating, “Now, our patients can rest assured they will receive their test results in a timely manner”. Jamie Caldwell, clinical manager of medical imaging, reinforced this, noting that reducing patient anxiety is a key goal.
Beyond the new partnership, Hillsdale Hospital continues to invest in cutting-edge technology to provide high-quality and comfortable patient care. The hospital’s radiology department features state-of-the-art equipment, including an MRI with Air Recon DL technology, which was a first for a public hospital in Michigan and helps reduce scan times while improving image quality.
For mammography, the hospital uses a 3D system with a patient-assisted compression device that lowers radiation exposure and reduces patient anxiety. Other services include DEXA body composition scans, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, and a mobile PET/CT unit that visits weekly.
Hodshire emphasized that this comprehensive suite of services ensures the community has access to timely, high-quality, and specialized care without needing to travel elsewhere. To learn more or schedule a test, patients can visit the hospital’s website or call (517) 437-1719.
