Carl R. Nayback, 88, of Quincy, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.
There will be no services or calling hours at this time. Interment will take place in Cedar Cemetery in Centreville, Michigan.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born August 8, 1937 in Rudyard to Gust and Fanny (Valley) Nayback. Carl married Shareen (Brandon) on May 23, 1998 and she survives.
Carl graduated from Rudyard High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Rudyard American Legion.
Carl worked at GM for 33 years as a welder and an inspector. He enjoyed hunting and attending auctions. Carl took pride in breeding registered Siberian Huskies for 50 years.
In addition to his wife, Shareen, Carl is survived by one daughter, Christine (James) Castelin; two sons, Gust (Jennifer) Nayback, Carlo Nayback; three step-sons, Scott (Tracy) Meyer, Steven (Kathryn) Meyer, Stuart (Nikki) Meyer; one sister; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers; one sister and his first wife, Sharon (Smith).
Memorial contributions are suggested to a veteran organization of the donor’s choice.
