Valerie Lea Brewer, 67, of Union City passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at her home. In a gentle circle of life, she passed on the same day she was born, surrounded by the love of her family.
Per Valerie’s wishes, she will be cremated.
A celebration of her life will be held as a gathering for family and friends from 12:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI.
Born October 28, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to Gerald Leon and Dorothy Lillian (Morrow) Warner, Valerie’s family later moved to Michigan. She graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1977.
Valerie was known for being fierce, loyal, loving, and wonderfully forgiving. She loved to party, crack jokes, and simply be around the people she loved. Her home was often filled with the music she adored, especially Cat Stevens and Elton John.
She found great joy in her hobbies, which included cooking and planting flowers in her garden. She had a special love for butterflies, enjoying pictures, art, and watching them in the summer. Her heart was big, with plenty of room for her family and even for her daughter’s beloved mastiff, Drax.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two children, Caine Sheehy and Cayla Kincaid, both of Union City; her grandchildren, Deztini Dorsey, Alexis Kincaid, Ariana Kincaid, Owen Kincaid, and Gemma Johnson; and her siblings, Veronica Shreve, Valencia (Mike) Barrett, and Verna Warner. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Amber, Megan, Ashley, Ransom, and Sean, along with a myriad of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Valerie is reunited in death with those who went before her: her parents; her brother, Blaine Warner; and her niece, Mandy Hutchinson.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
