BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council hosted a public hearing Monday night on possible changes to the city’s golf cart and UTV ordinance.
Discussions during previous meetings centered on hours of operation and crossing paths along U.S. 12.
Two audience members spoke in favor of allowing other locations for the vehicles to cross along U.S. 12 besides the main four corners.
No action was taken by the Council following Monday’s public hearing. Formal action by the Council was tabled during both the September and October meetings.
The Council directed the city staff in August to present an amended ordinance allowing for the use of golf carts and UTV’s a half hour after sunrise and a half hour before sunset.
Currently, the ordinance allows the use of those vehicles one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset.
In other business, the Council approved changes to locations permitted in the Food Truck Ordinance. City Manager Branson Mersman said the changes clarify that they are only allowed in B-3 Commercial zoning districts for up to a maximum of 30 days per calendar year. For city events, they can be permitted in other areas.
