CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, (WTVB) – Firefighters from the Hillsdale Township Fire Department (HTFD) and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fire Division returned to Cambria Township Tuesday to continue remediation of a muck fire that had been burning for approximately 10 days.
The fire in a half-acre area of swamp land was found to be slightly larger than initially estimated.
After several hours of work, Michigan DNR Forest Fire Officer Supervisor Shane Crawford and his team believe the fire has been fully extinguished and will return to the scene today to confirm.
