COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Commission on Aging’s Burnside Senior Center in Coldwater has announced the return of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, providing free income tax preparation for qualifying Branch County residents.
Operated in partnership with Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland, the service is available to individuals and households with an annual income of $69,000 or less. To ensure accuracy and security, all returns are prepared by IRS-certified volunteers and submitted electronically.
Appointments are required, as walk-in services are not available. Residents may begin scheduling their sessions on Monday, January 12, 2026, by calling 517-279-6565 ext. 122.
