ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) A high-speed pursuit spanning two counties ended in the arrest of an Indianapolis man on the evening of January 11, 2026. Just before 8:00 p.m., the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office joined the Fremont Town Marshal’s Office in pursuit of a blue passenger car fleeing westbound on SR 120.
The chase transitioned onto southbound I-69 at the 354 mile marker, drawing assistance from the Angola Police Department and Indiana State Police as the suspect continued to evade authorities at high speeds.

The pursuit concluded approximately 22 miles later in DeKalb County, where the vehicle was stopped near the 332 mile marker with help from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the Ashley-Hudson Town Marshal’s Office.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Adolfo Mejia-Fuentes, was taken into custody and booked into the Steuben County Jail on multiple charges, including felony resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana. Mejia-Fuentes has since been released on bond
