QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The 63rd annual Quincy Chain-of Lakes Tip Up Festival is set to return to Marble Lake this Saturday, with a full day of winter traditions on Tip-Up Island,
Following weeks of sub-freezing temperatures that have secured the ice, this year’s festivities will feature the hallmark ice fishing tournament, a craft show, and The Squirrel Derby.
The day’s highlights include the 43rd annual Polar Bear Splash at noon, where brave participants plunge into the frigid waters of Marble Lake, and the return of the high-energy chainsaw race competition.
Under the leadership of this year’s Tip-Up Mayor Phil Mainstone and Sheriff Rick Poindexter, the festival continues its mission of community gathering and fundraising for local scholarships. Families can enjoy a variety of activities from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., including kids’ games and food from on-site vendors and trucks. The celebration concludes Saturday evening with the Fisherman’s Ball at the pavilion, featuring live music from the Pomegranate Whiskey Band starting at 7:30 p.m..
