Richard W. “Richie” Allen, 68, of Burr Oak passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Three Rivers Health Hospital, surrounded by family.
In keeping with Richie’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Sturgis Church of Christ, 901 North Lakeview Ave., Sturgis, MI with Pastor George Cleverly officiating.
He will be privately interred at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak Township.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Richie was born November 5, 1957 to Richard Wayne and Shirley (Lozier) Allen in Battle Creek, Michigan. He married Barbara Jean Murray and had two children together. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2004. He later married Karen Rounsville on April 15, 2006, in Sturgis. She also preceded him in death May 19, 2023.
Richie worked as a truck driver for 35 years; he always enjoyed being on the road.
Richie was part of Michigan Sturgis Church of Christ. In his free time, he enjoyed picking on his grandchildren, driving people around, being outdoors, going to car shows, attending drag races, monster truck shows, and was always a social butterfly.
Richie is survived by his sons, Jesse (Kim) Allen of Three Rivers and Justin (Christy) Allen of Burr Oak; his brother, Robin Allen of Grand Rapids; his grandchildren, Haley (Quinn), Isaac “Ike”, Michael “Mikey”, Kaiden, and Jessica; and his aunt, Rosemary Fuller.
In addition to Barbara and Karen, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Royce Allen.
