Roy W. Rogers, 78, of Tekonsha, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 (which is Roy’s 79th birthday), at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, 616 North Main Street, Tekonsha, MI 49092, with Rev. Mr. John Wielgos officiating. In keeping with Roy’s wishes, cremation will follow and he will be laid to rest privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, April 24, 2026, also at Lighthouse of Tekonsha.
Roy was born on April 25, 1947, to Alford and Dorothy (Waddle) Rogers. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served honorably for 4 years. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver and then worked in multiple factories. He married Nora Hackett on December 27, 1993, and moved to the Battle Creek area. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2014. Roy later met Deanna Beam at their local Café in 2015. Roy and Deanna got married in 2016.
Roy was an active member of the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Union City. In his free time, he enjoyed dancing at the senior center, going out to dinner with his many friends, and joking with everyone. Roy also loved his cats.
In addition to his wife of 10 years, Deanna Beam of Tekonsha, Roy is survived by his son, Roy John Rogers of Spring Lake; his step-children, Carrie Goodman of Tekonsha and Valerie Rice of Battle Creek; his siblings, Steven (Teresa) Rogers, Wayne (Sherry) Rogers, and Katheryn (Robert) Smith; his grandchildren, Lola Rogers, Jade Goodman, and Chamellia Goodman; and many friends. In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by his parents.
