Daniel D. Drennan, 75, of Bronson passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 27, 2026 at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Fr. Siby George officiating. Cremation will follow the mass, and interment will be at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Dan was born February 17, 1951 in Toledo, OH to Woodrow Wilson & Lucille (Truckor) Drennan. He married Marcia A. Vogl April 16, 1971 in Toledo, OH.
Dan was a highly recognized golf course superintendent. He began his career in the 1970’s with the Lucas County Recreation Center in Ohio where he served as General Manager, also caring for the Toledo Mudhens baseball field. In the early 1980’s, Dan was superintendent of the Toledo Country Club, before relocating to Bronson in 1993, where he owned and operated Prairie River Golf Course for 15 years.
His career was a testament to his expertise, patience and love for the game, earning him deep respect within the golfing community for maintaining excellence on the greens. He had also worked for the Coldwater Country Club and Bella Vista and was a longstanding member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association.
Dan was a man whose faith was the cornerstone of his existence; he was an active member of St. Mary’s Church where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. He devoted many years to mentoring the youth through retreats and guidance, teaching the values of diversity, acceptance and compassion.
Dan was a former Rotarian, a dedicated bowler in local leagues, a skilled craftsman flipping houses, known as “Tooly”, and an avid Poker player who enjoyed the strategy of the game, even hosting a weekly poker/Euchre night for 23 years.
Above all, Dan was a devoted family man. He loved his work but loved his family more, dedicating himself to teaching his children the value of a strong work ethic, integrity and love.
Dan is survived by his wife Marcia; his children Steven (Deborah) Drennan of Peoria, IL, Deena (Aaron) Stevens of Bronson, Amanda Drennan of Sturgis, Joe (Ashley) Drennan of Bronson; his siblings Larry (Diane) Drennan of Tampa, FL, Harold (Susie) Drennan of Perry, GA, Rusty (Cathy) Drennan of Somerset, MI, Richard Drennan of Charlotte, NC, Doug (Karen) Drennan of Toledo, OH; his grandchildren Drew Stevens, Julie (Ben) Modert, Carson Stevens, Ben Stevens, Lucy Marks, Jayden Drennan, Brody Drennan, Declan Drennan, Mary Gayed-Drennan and many nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ron Drennan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Assumption Church or the Knights of Columbus.
