COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater improved to 7-10 overall with a pair of five-inning wins Thursday against Delton Kellogg, 14-4 and 12-2.
Rylan Edwards earned the complete game victory for the Cardinals in the first game, allowing four runs on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts. He was aided by a 14-hit attack by his teammates that included 11 runs scored in the third inning. Finn Hanson went 2-for-2 and drove in three runs, while Matthew Hurley was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Kayden Roby went 3-for-3, and Owen Tappenden was 2-for-4 with a double.
Hurley started and won the second game, giving up two runs on three hits with two walks and nine strikeouts. Edwards was 3-for-3 at the plate, while leadoff hitter Royale Fleming drove in four runs with his 2-for-3 hitting performance. Luke Stout was 2-for-3, Dayton Ennis had an RBI double, and Tappenden contributed an RBI triple.

BRONSON, MI – Bronson dropped two games to the third-ranked team in Division 3, according to the latest Michigan High School baseball Coaches Association poll. Jackson Lumen Christi won the opener 11-5 and took the nightcap 14-2 in five innings.
The Vikings couldn’t make a 5-2 lead stand in the first game, as the Titans scored nine runs in the final three innings, including six runs in the sixth. Max Byler was 2-for-4 at the plate, while Reid Stukey went 2-for-3 with a double. Connor McClelland and Warner Wotta also doubled, and Collin Webb drove in two runs.
Bronson was held to five hits in the second game. Byler doubled, and Wotta went 2-for-3.
The Vikings fell to 9-6 overall and will take part in the Centreville Invitational on Saturday.
