COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County letter carriers will join the 34th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this Saturday, May 9, to help replenish local pantries facing springtime shortages.
As part of the nation’s largest one-day food drive, postal workers across Coldwater, Bronson, Quincy, Union City and all points in between will collect non-perishable donations directly from residents’ doorsteps during their regular mail routes. T
To participate, community members are encouraged to leave a bag of shelf-stable goods—such as canned vegetables, peanut butter, or pasta—by their mailbox before their carrier’s typical delivery time.
All food collected during the drive stays within Branch County to support neighbors experiencing food insecurity. In previous years, donations in Coldwater have benefited the Branch Area Food Pantry, while collections in Bronson and Union City were distributed through local food programs and churches. This year’s effort is particularly critical as families prepare for the summer months when many school-based meal programs are suspended, making local pantry resources more essential than ever.
