COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Aivry Chavez bookended Coldwater’s 9-1 girls soccer win against Hastings Friday night with the game’s first two goals and its last goal. She also had three assists. Samantha Bernard and Etta Machan had two goals apiece, with Bernard also contributing an assist. Juliana McCuen had a goal and an assist, Salet Morera Valdes scored a goal, and Ava Gilchrist had 2 assists. The Cardinals led 6-0 at halftime as Abby Garcia and Rose Langer split goalkeeping duties.
With the win, Coldwater improved to 7-5-1 overall and and 2-3 in the Interstate 8. The varsity team will travel to Parma Western on Monday to play a game that was originally scheduled for April 22nd before storms moved through Jackson County, forcing the contest to be postponed.
The Cardinal JV squad played their final game of the season and dropped a 1-0 decision to Sturgis.
