COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a Resolution on Tuesday night, greenlighting a series of six downtown car shows sponsored by Side Street Beer Bar this summer.
The events are scheduled for June 6, June 13, June 27, July 11, July 18, and July 25, and will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to showcase a variety of classic, vintage, sports, and muscle cars alongside motorcycles.
To accommodate the displays, the city will close North Hanchett Street from just north of the Upson Parking Plaza east entrance to Harrison Street, with municipal crews providing the necessary barricades.
This initiative aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts to boost economic activity and foot traffic in the downtown district. Organizers confirmed that the weekend car shows will not conflict with any previously scheduled downtown performances.
Additionally, Side Street Beer Bar will utilize the city’s established social district commons areas during the events, allowing patrons to enjoy beverages outdoors while viewing the vehicles. Following the council’s vote, the City Clerk has been authorized to officially sign off on the street closures.
