COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Downtown Coldwater ranks 10th among Michigan’s Main Street communities for visitor traffic.
According to recent data tracking cellphone activity, the historic district welcomed over 1.4 million visitors.
Main Street Downtown Development Authority Director Kristin Johnson revealed that traffic peaked during the summer months, averaging nearly 120,000 monthly visits. The single busiest day recorded was during the annual Strawberry Fest.
Local officials and board members expressed excitement over the top-ten ranking from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. This momentum is expected to carry directly into the summer tourism season. The landmark Tibbits Opera House is projected to draw more than 8,000 guests over its upcoming theatrical run. This influx will provide a substantial economic boost to downtown businesses and restaurants, solidifying Coldwater’s reputation as a thriving regional hub.
