COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Four members of Michigan’s congressional delegation earlier this week penned a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Marc Carney regarding his countries lack of attention to wildfires that continue causing air quality problems in Michigan and several other states.
One name missing from that letter was 5th District Congressman Tim Walberg. He says he was asked to be a part of the letter but declined.
Walberg instead says they are asking for a meeting to see what could be done to contain what has now become a yearly occurrence.
Walberg says the need to look at ways to prevent this from happening again.
Walberg didn’t give a time frame as to when he would like to see those meeting take place.
