DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 13-year-old Detroit boy is in police custody in Ohio after he allegedly shot his dad in the back and fled the city in the family’s SUV along with their dog.
Detroit Police Commanding Officer Dietrich Lever explains what happened.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. yesterday at their home in the 18000 block of Bretton Drive and police were called to the scene.
Jerry King says shootings in the area are extremely rare.
The 13-year-old was arrested with one other person and the family dog in Ohio, and no names have been released.
The father survived.
