BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls golf team placed ninth out of 18 teams Wednesday at the season-opening Scott Family Invitational, hosted by Gull Lake at Bedford Valley Golf Course. The Cardinals finished with a team score of 405. Okemos won the tournament with their score of 322.
Freshman Aubrey Eberts led the way for Coldwater, as her round of 92 put her in a four-way tie for 18th place. Returning teammates Payton Longstreet shot a 103, Alivia Arnold fired a 104, McKinley Earles carded a 106, and Harper Anglin shot a 107.
The Cardinal varsity squad returns to action next Tuesday as they travel to Arbor Hills Golf Club in Jackson for the first Interstate 8 jamboree of the season, hosted by Parma Western. Coldwater’s JV team will open its season Friday as they take part in the Vicksburg jamboree.
