COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) will be hosting its annual Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding Day on Saturday, September 2 , from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
Designed to protect local drinking water and natural resources from contamination, the hazardous waste collection is open exclusively to residents from participating communities. These areas include the cities of Coldwater and Bronson, the Village of Quincy, and the townships of Algansee, Bethel, Bronson, Butler, Coldwater, Girard, Kinderhook, Ovid, Sherwood, and Quincy Townships. Residents can check the City of Coldwater Website for a complete guide on accepted and restricted items.
In addition to hazardous waste disposal, a mobile shredding truck will be on-site to help community members securely destroy personal documents.
City of Coldwater residents and CBPU residential customers can use the shredding service for free, while other township participants can take advantage of it for a nominal fee.
Organizers remind attendees to enter the fairgrounds from S. Sprague St and bring proper identification
