COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Interstate 8 Conference with a 4-2 home win over Parma Western Tuesday.
The Cardinals didn’t break through on AYSO Night until three minutes left in the first half, getting back to back goals from Abdulhamid Munassar and Muthana Hajaji.
After Coldwater went up 3-0 early in the second half, the Panthers scored two unanswered goals to narrow the margin to 3-2. Munassar then got his second goal of the game to give the Cardinals a two goal cushion and the win.
The game ended with just over five minutes to play because of thunder and lightening.
The Coldwater junior varsity team tied Parma Western 1-1. They will host the Bronson varsity team Thursday, while the Cardinal varsity team will host Pennfield in their annual Purple Game Thursday to honor victims and survivors of cancer.
