BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s cross country teams ran at the first Interstate 8 jamboree of the season Tuesday at Harper Creek. The Cardinal boys were third with 76 points, while the girls were fourth with 105 points.
Luke Aerts and Sebastian Hernandez both finished in the top ten in the boys race; Aerts came in fourth, while Hernandez was ninth. Lucas Newberry finished 16th, Drew Vanderpuyl came in 20th, and Collin Long was 31st.
For the shorthanded Lady Cards, Ellie Aughenbaugh finished 17th, Mya McBride was right behind in 18th, Miyah Moore was 36th, Ella Thompson came in 37th, and Olivia Rinard was 41st.

Coldwater returns to action next Wednesday at the Parchment Classic.
In the middle school races at Harper Creek, the Legg Middle School boys were second with 53 points, while the girls did not have enough runners for a team score.
Maher Ahmed won the boys race, with Gabriel Chacon third, Grady Arnold ninth, Henry McCall 21st, and Gavin Hampton 26th.
In the girls race, Savannah Davenport was ninth, Savannah Clay 18th, Eliza Koyl 46th, and Savannah Hughes 74th.
