COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Parma Western showed why they were the fifth-ranked team in the state in Division 2 according to the latest Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association poll. The Panthers improved to a perfect 14-0 overall and 2-0 in the Interstate 8 with a straight-set victory at Coldwater Wednesday night, 25-10, 25-18, 25-11. It was the Cardinals’ home opener, as well as the team’s Cancer Awareness Night.
Aubrey Gebbink led the team with 8 kills and 4 digs, while Adyson Qualls had 6 kills, 5 digs, and 2 service aces. Brooklyn Closson added 3 kills, 6 digs, and 14 assists, and Kinley Brown had 5 digs.
Coldwater fell to 9-10-1 overall and 0-2 in the Interstate 8. They will host a quad match with Schoolcraft, Gull Lake, and Eaton Rapids Saturday afternoon.

Western also won the JV match 25-17, 21-25, 15-5 and the freshman contest 25-13, 25-12.
