Robert W. “Lee” Hyde, 58, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service that morning at the funeral home.
Lee was born October 4, 1967 to Robert L. and Bonnie Hyde in Toledo, Ohio. His early childhood years were spent in Michigan before moving to Wyoming where he would graduate high school and meet the love of his life, Michele “Micki” Flake.
Lee and Micki were married after 9 short months September 24, 1988 in Cody, Wyoming and they spent 38 years together. Lee and Micki relocated to Coldwater, where they decided to raise their family.
Lee, or known as “Wes” by some, was a jack of all trades. He worked for many local businesses including Davenport Excavating, Certified Sand and Gravel, GTS Trucking, and Climatic Carriers before deciding to start his own trucking company, Hyde Motor Freight in 2012.
Lee enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, and shooting anything he could get his hands on. Some of his most cherished times were vacationing to Grayling with his family and exploring everything nature had to offer.
A stroke in November 2014 limited his abilities to continue some of his hobbies but it was only a short time before he gained his most favorite title and hobby of all, being a grandfather.
Lee is survived by his devoted wife, Micki; his mother Bonnie Hyde; his two daughters, Karissa (Kyle) Steffey and Brianna Hyde; granddaughters Oaklyn and Paislee all from Coldwater; his siblings Patrick (Melissa) Hyde of Yuma, AZ, Michael (Hannah) Hyde Ypsilanti, MI, Victoria (William) Orlewicz of Brighton, MI, and Kathrine (Branden) Garner of Grand Rapids, MI; his favorite Aunts Barbra Hyde, Theresa Greathouse, and Susan Daignault; many nieces and nephews; and special friends who never forgot about him.
Lee was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Hyde, his in-laws Charles and Carolyn Flake and his most favorite dog Jessie.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Stroke Association.
