ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – The Indiana State Police say they arrested a Cassopolis man on several drug charges early Saturday morning following a traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road about nine miles west of Angola.
The suspects vehicle was stopped for a moving violation.
As Trooper Cody Brown spoke to the driver, identified as 34-year-old Kondwani Bethea, Brown purportedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A Steuben County Sheriff’s deputy assisted with a vehicle search and located two glass jars that contained about a half ounce of suspected marijuana and a container that contained about one gram of suspected cocaine. Several pills of what was believed to be a controlled substance as well as a small bag of suspected psilocybin mushrooms were also found.
Bethea was arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Marijuana, Cocaine and a Controlled Substance and taken to the Steuben County Jail.
