COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Saying they need additional time to gather information, the Branch County 911 Communications Board is recommending to the Branch County Board of Commissioners that a ballot proposal for a combined public safety facility be put off until the November 2018 general election.
A local citizens committee is pushing for a facility that would house the Branch County Sheriff’s Office including a new county jail, Circuit Court probation and Branch County Central Dispatch.
The 911 board says they need more time so they can provide further recommendations to the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioners didn’t make a decision during their work session Friday morning, but they agreed to have County Administrator Bud Norman report back on possible ballot language for their March 29 work session.
