MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says they have been inundated with complaints recently about stolen mail.
They say crooks are stealing from personal mailboxes at homes around the county.
If you are mailing a check, the Sheriff’s Department says you should track the check so you know if and when it arrives and never mail a check payable to cash.
In addition, restrict the check and make it hard to tell that there is a check in the envelope.
Other tips include paying your bills on line or going to the post office to mail a check.
