LAGRANGE, IN (WTVB) – A pursuit which started in Branch County’s Noble Township and reached speeds as high as 100 miles an hour ended in LaGrange County, Indiana Saturday afternoon.
Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler says deputies tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the southern part of Noble Township at about 3:45 p.m..
The pursuit ran through many stop signs in Branch and Saint Joseph Counties before it went into Indiana.
Branch County Deputies ended their pursuit as they entered LaGrange County when the vehicle being chased drove into a field. They were able to keep sight on the suspect vehicle until the driver was taken into custody by the Indiana DNR office and taken to the LaGrange County Jail.
It turned out the suspect was a parole absconder out of Michigan. The name is being withheld pending an initial hearing in Indiana. Charges are also pending in Michigan.
