COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Charges have been filed against a Kinderhook Township man following another alleged confrontation with a female acquaintance.
46-year-old Richard Stolte was arraigned Thursday in Branch County District Court on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily hard less than murder and domestic violence third offense.
Bond has been set at $50,000 with a probable cause hearing set for next Thursday and a preliminary exam scheduled for February 21, 2019.
It’s second alleged violent incident Stolte and the woman have been involved in.
With the latest criminal filing, bond from the first case has been denied.
Stolte was free on bond and was scheduled to be sentenced March 25 after entering a guilty plea to a charge of throwing an object at a vehicle in connection with a December 12, 2018 incident in which he threw a hammer and injured the woman at his home on East Copeland Road.
Stolte told the Michigan State Police he was not trying to hit the woman when he threw the hammer. State Police said at the time the woman rammed her vehicle into Stolte’s vehicle during an argument between the two.
In exchange for his plea in the first case, a felonious assault charge was dismissed by the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office.
