COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Unlike last year when inmates had to help fix a major water leak, it was a fairly quiet New Year’s holiday weekend at the Branch County Jail.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department only reported seven jail bookings from last Friday through New Year’s Day.
Just two of the bookings were for drunk driving offenses. There were no bookings reported on Friday.
As of Wednesday morning, there were 110 inmates in the jail. The population consisted of 86 men and 24 females.
