COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department reported two more COVID-19 deaths in its jurisdiction on Thursday while the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency got word of a 13th death in Hillsdale County.
The Calhoun County death toll is now up to eight. There have been a total of 178 confirmed cases which have resulted in 48 persons going to the hospital. Officials say 18 persons who have tested positive are currently in Calhoun County hospital beds.
The C.H.A. says 44 positive cases have been reported so far in Branch County along with 99 cases in Hillsdale County and 27 cases in St. Joseph County.
The number of cases represents the total number of cases identified in each county since the beginning of the outbreak. It does not represent the number of cases that are considered completed in the disease course for COVID-19.
Officials say as testing increases in Michigan, the number of confirmed cases will likely go up as well.
