BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department reported late Wednesday morning there has been a sixth death in its jurisdiction from COVID-19.
It’s the first death reported in Calhoun County since last Thursday.
The county has had 169 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 46 persons requiring to be hospitalized since the first case was reported on March 21. The Health Department says 16 of those persons are currently occupying hospital beds in Calhoun County.
There have been 64 cases reported in the last week including an increase of 11 cases from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Statistics provided by the C.C.P.H.D. show that 21 percent of the cases involve people in their 40s while 19 percent involve people in their 30s. .
