Beverly Holt
Stewart, 80, of Coldwater passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Laurels of
Coldwater while under hospice care.
In following
the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will
occur at a later date.
The family
was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Beverly was born February 16, 1940 to Chester and Hazel
(Tyler) Holt in Springfield, Missouri. She earned a Bachelor’s in Education
from Indiana State University.
On August 19, 1960 she married Reed M. Stewart.
He preceded her in death on December 27, 2006.
Beverly used her degree for a
few years of teaching before becoming involved in many business ventures. She
owned and operated a unique sales boutique in Delaware. Beverly was also
involved in many other business and consulting opportunities while in Delaware.
She moved to Michigan in 2007 after Reed’s passing to be closer to her
children. She owned and operated Stewart's Gallery in Coldwater until deciding
to focus on family and travel.
Beverly was
a woman of faith, attending the United Methodist Church in Coldwater until her
health prevented her from going to services. She enjoyed spending time reading,
listening to music, and singing. Beverly was a social butterfly, never meeting
a stranger. Her true joy in life was being with her family.
Mrs. Stewart
is survived by her son Reed M. Stewart, II of Coldwater; her sister Barbara
Hembree of Missouri; her grandchildren Lucas and Alexandra Stewart of
Coldwater; her companion Stephen Noyse; and her niece Lynda Stepnowski.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband Reed; and her daughter Elaine
Tyler Stewart in 2011.
Donations in
her honor would be welcomed at the Humane Society of Branch County.
