Freddie was born August 20, 1957 to Everett and Martha
(Thornburg) Avra in Ludington. After graduation from high school he began a
long career as an entrepreneur. Freddie was involved in many business ventures
over the years in the housing, farming, and trucking industries. On July 1, 1995
he married the love of his life, “Jo” Josephine Hickerson in Algansee Township.
Freddie was very community oriented. He served on the
Board of Review for Algansee Township. When not working, Fred enjoyed farming,
gardening, and politics. He liked old cars, trains, antiques, and studying
history. Freddie had a hard time not attending and buying things at auctions.
He was well known for his fight against taxes, not just for himself but
everyone paying them. Freddie was very proud of the restoration of the “old
church on the curve”.
Fred will be remembered for being helpful to anyone in
need and his outgoing personality. His true joy in life was being with his
family. Freddie will be missed by many.

Scheick) Avra all of Quincy; his siblings Keith (Holly Warner) Avra of Quincy,
