Paul was born April 28, 1934 in Ceresco, Michigan to Grover and Beulah (Barnes) Minniear. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1952. On June 29, 1956 he married the former Geraldine “Jerry” Cox in Marshall.
Paul was employed by Kennedy Automatic, Corning Glass in Albion, and Eaton in Marshall, from which he retired in 1983. He also owned his own business, Minniear’s TV Sales and Service. Paul attended the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha.
Paul was a people person, he loved everyone and was loved by many. He enjoyed working on TVs, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Paul loved working in his yard planting flowers, which he called his little piece of heaven. His love of pigeons began as a young boy and continued throughout his life, but most of all Paul was a family man and held his family close to his heart.
Survivors include Paul’s wife of 64 years, Jerry; a son, Douglas (Nicole) Minniear of Burlington; a daughter, Shirley Calcatera of Marshall; grandchildren Rene (Jon) Byrd, Pamela Russell, Stephanie Minniear; and great-grandchildren McKayla Byrd and Abigail Byrd.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Rachel Minniear, Mildred Miller, Tom Minniear, Dick Minniear, Melvin Minniear and Leo Minniear; and his son-in-law, Mark Calcatera.
Because of Pauls’ great love for flowers, friends are encouraged to send some beautiful flowers. That would make Paul smile and the family would greatly appreciate it.
If you wish to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests the Tekonsha First Baptist Church, 914 N. Main Street, Tekonsha, MI 49092.
