James O. Pope, 78, of Union City, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A graveside service celebrating the life of James will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Jim was born July 31, 1941 in Minnesota to Oliver and Wilma (Fries) Pope. In 1978 he married Donna Hankins. She preceded him in death in 1994. He worked for many years at J & D Signs in Sherwood as a sign painter. Jim enjoyed camping, spending time with his grandkids, yard sales, traveling, and amusement parks. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Union City.
Surviving are his children Adam (LeAnn) Pope of Hartford, Jim (Christie) Pope of Kinderhook, John (Kim) Pope of Battle Creek, Christina (Kevin) Graham of Lansing, Rhonda (Jamie) Wooster of Three Rivers, Paul (Tina) Pope of Coldwater, Jeff (Robin) Wolfinger of Bronson, Leon (Erika) Wolfinger of Bronson, Amy (Tim) Vrooman of Coldwater, his grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, Tyler, Kirstin, Jeffery, Jacob, Brandon, Corey, PJ, Kendell, Joe, Jessica, Justin, Amanda, Rachel, Arielle, Jonathan, Krissy, Brehanna, Sierra, Brandi, Nicole, Bradlee, his great-grandchildren Brylee, Adalee, and many more. He is also survived by his brother Bob Snyder.
In addition to his wife Donna, Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother LeRoy Snyder.
